JEFFREY GURIAN- HA HA HA !!!

There is nothing like a good laugh, or cracking up until it hurts. If you ever meet Jeffrey Gurian, expect a lot of sweet pain. He has written material for the great comics of our time like Joan Rivers, Richard Belzer, Phil Hartman, Rodney Dangerfield, and that's just the start. Andrew "Dice" Clay said he is one of the few people who has ever written for him. Jeffrey is also credited as a performer, director, producer, Cosmetic Dentist and Healer. I can only imagine sitting down in his dentist chair. Your mouth would certainly be wide open from laughing the minute he started talking.

" Laughing Legends" his new book which features an introduction and interview with Chris Rock is already a hit, and is an updated version of his previous book "Make ‘Em Laugh”, in which he investigates the history of the legendary comedy club "The Comic Strip" which launched the careers of legends like Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, and Chris Rock. Not bad for a guy originally from Bronx. He also has a second book that just came out called "Man Robs Bank With His Chin- And Other Unusual Stories Missed By Mainstream Media" both books guaranteed to have you doubled over in laughter and are available on Amazon.

From his stand up performances in every top comedy club, to TV appearances (Kroll Show's Too Much Tuna on Comedy Central, AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live with Jon Lovitz)) with every star you can imagine. Jeffrey is a regular on the entertainment scene. He has worked with everyone from Amy Poehler to Seth Rogen. His house is as he calls it a “comedy museum”, covered with photos of every star past and present. He even got jiggy with Deepak Chopra.

As I wandered through his life in his New York apartment, it felt to me like a giggle shrine. As he gave me the grand tour I got to see many sides of this character epitomized by memorabilia around him. His big pen collection is epic, but only next to his rare " spoon plants" which he told me sometimes grows a fork by mistake....' kind of like a weed'.... but he said it is quite easy to maintain. His writing room is filled with photos of the greatest stars in the world and posters of his movies like “I'm Your Man”, the first interactive film ever done by Sony, and his feature film written with Scott Baio called "Face to Face".

As a child you could only imagine what crazy things he did. “My parents were excellent at writing notes, because I was always in some sort of trouble, but hey, everyone was always laughing”. His parents gave him the inspiration to bring his ‘funny out” as he says. His father always took him to see comedy films like Laurel and Hardy, The Marx Brothers , and Abbott and Costello.

Jeffrey and I wandered from his comic dwelling to Caroline's Comedy Club to see his pal DL Hughley who was headlining. DL refers to Jeffrey as the" Coolest White Man On The Face Of The Earth”. Watching these two go at it back and forth may have been one of the most hilarious moments of my life. Watching them get down dancing old school was even better and I got it on tape. Jeffrey and DL leave me in stitches with this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbShCSW28K0 .

Mr .Gurian has definitely got the rhythm and was certainly feeling the spirit that night. He has such an energetic presence. The minute he walks into a room everyone is watching to see what he is going to do. He has had the same classic hair style for over 15 years and has hashed it into a brand. No hats for this man as he does not mess with the do.

Jeffrey is an entertaining magnet, you can't help but be drawn in by his energy. His column 'Comedy Matters" launched in 1999 is still going strong in the top comedy website The Interrobang, as" Jumping Around With Jeffrey Gurian" and he is a regular on Sirius XM’s Bennington show where he surprises you with his celeb guests and friends like Trevor Noah, Artie Lange, Colin Quinn. and Lisa Lampanelli. He has produced shows starring Kevin Hart and Susie Essman. This man has no plans of stopping. He is known and loved by Hollywood and has the photo collection to prove it. This was one of my favourite interviews of all time, and with Jeffrey, there is always more laughter to come.
